Project background
The Department of Transport and Planning are undertaking investigations to inform planning for future safety improvements at the intersections of Nepean Highway, Station Street and McLeod Road in Carrum.
In February 2020, the level crossing at Station Street in Carrum was removed as part of the Victorian Government’s Level Crossing Removal Project.
In addition to the crossing removal, the intersection of Station Street and McLeod Road was upgraded from a T-intersection to a multi-leg cross intersection and a new direct connection from McLeod Road to Nepean Highway was opened under the elevated train line.
The intersections, elevated train line, and neighbouring railway station form a complex environment that attracts a high volume of vehicles and pedestrians.
The Department of Transport and Planning are undertaking investigations to inform planning for safety improvements at the intersection.
