What we've done
We’ve upgraded the traffic lights to LED technology at the intersection of McIntyre Road and Phoenix Street, and outside the Sunshine Fire Station on McIntyre Road, to increase their brightness and longevity.
We’ve also upgraded the signal controller to ensure compatibility with the new LED lights.
This upgrade has improved visibility of the traffic lights for drivers and helped ensure unrestricted access for fire trucks exiting the Sunshine Fire Station onto McIntyre Road.
For fire services, unrestricted access to the road network is critical to the efficient movement of fire trucks and reducing emergency response times.
We thank the community for their patience whilst we delivered these important traffic light upgrades.
