Bellarine Highway/Moolap Station Road, Moolap

Update -July 2024
We’re improving safety and efficiency at the intersection of Bellarine Highway and Moolap Station Road. More information will be provided in the second half of 2024, once delivery programs are finalised.
Overview
Works will include:
- adjusting the intersection layout to include an additional right-turn lane on Moolap Station Road (north approach), to improve efficiency for vehicles turning onto the Bellarine Highway towards Geelong
- improved drainage
- traffic light sequency improvements and civil works
- a new bicycle lane on Bellarine Highway (eastbound)
Benefits
Upgrading the intersection will:
- improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists
- improve freight capacity and efficiency on the Principal Freight Network
- support economic growth with more efficient connections between Point Henry, Moolap industrial precincts and Geelong
- cater for growth on the Bellarine Peninsula, keeping communities connected.
Funding
The Victorian Government has invested $3.3 million to improve this intersection through the Regional Roads Upgrade Program.
