Beechworth-Wodonga Road culvert repairs

We’ve completed repairs to two culverts on Beechworth Wodonga Road at Rising Sun Creek and Star Lane, Wooragee.

Update - July 2024

Beechworth-Wodonga Road is now open to all traffic at both locations, with load limits and speed restrictions removed.

Background

Damage to the two stone culverts under Beechworth-Wodonga Road was identified as part of Regional Roads Victoria’s structures inspection program.

The damage was sustained due to heavy rain and flooding and works to repair the culverts involved careful planning in consideration or heritage requirements and environmental controls.

Traffic restrictions, including a detour for heavy vehicles at Star Lane and use of a Bailey Bridge at Rising Sun Creek, were in place for some time while the works were planned and delivered.

We thank you for your patience while we completed these works.
