Victoria Street maintenance works

We’re delivering important road maintenance works on Victoria Street in Doncaster.

What we’re doing 

We’re delivering road rehabilitation works on Victoria Street between George Street and King Street.

These works will involve road rehabilitation and resurfacing to restore the condition of the road surface.

This work is being completed as part of the Victorian Government’s $780 million investment in the state’s road maintenance program.

When to expect us

Crews are working at night between 8pm and 5am from Sunday 28 May to Sunday 18 June, excluding Friday and Saturday nights and public holidays. 

Road rehabilitation requires dry, temperate weather conditions when removing and relaying the road surface. Please note that the dates and times are subject to change due to weather conditions.

What to expect

During works:

  • Victoria Street will be closed between George Street and King Street, with signed detours in place: 
    • Northbound detour via Doncaster Road, Williamsons Road, Reynolds Road to Blackburn Road. 
    • Southbound detour via Williamsons Road, to Doncaster Road.
  • There will be no street parking on Victoria Street between George Street and King Street during work hours. 
  • You can expect periods of medium to high noise levels. 
  • There will be some vibrations and dust around work areas while we remove the existing layer of the road, lay new asphalt, and reinstate the road.

Please plan ahead and allow up to an extra 5 minutes of travel time as you move through the area via the signed detours.

Public transport network

Route 279 along Victoria Street may experience some delays due to higher traffic volumes.
