What we’re doing

We’re undertaking maintenance works on Nepean Highway between Uralla Road and Helena Street.

These works will involve major road patching to repair damaged areas and improve the condition of the road surface.

A road closure is required whilst we carry out these important road maintenance works.

A temporary speed reduction from 80km/hr to 40km/hr will remain in place for the safety of all road users. Once these important works are completed the signed 80km/hr speed limit will be reinstated.

When to expect us

Works are expected to take place over three nights between Monday 11 December and Monday 18 December between 7pm and 6am.

As these works are subject to favourable weather, work dates may change in the event of adverse weather.

During works Nepean Highway will be closed from Uralla Road to Helena Street with a signed detour in place via Uralla Road, Bay Road, Esplanade and Cragie Road.

How will this impact you

  • During nightworks, Nepean Highway will be closed in both directions between Uralla Road and Helena Street, with a signed detour in place.
  • Heavy vehicles will be escorted through the work zone with assistance from traffic management controllers.
  • Access for emergency services will be maintained.
  • Medium - high noise levels.
  • Some vibrations and dust around work areas while we remove the existing layer of the road, lay new asphalt, and reinstate the road.
  • Reduced speeds during works to ensure the safety of crews and all road users.

Plan ahead and allow extra travel time in the area. Thank you for your patience and understanding while we carry out these important maintenance works.
