Major works this summer

As part of Victoria’s Big Build, work on the West Gate Tunnel Project is progressing to widen the West Gate Freeway from 8 to 12 lanes, while the Department of Transport’s annual maintenance works will also take place on the West Gate Bridge.
Works continue to remove dangerous and congested level crossings, while road upgrades are in progress on the M80 Ring Road and across the south east, as part of Big Build Roads. Tunnelling is now happening on North East Link and work has started to upgrade the Eastern Freeway and M80 Ring Road. Preparation has also begun for tunnelling on Suburban Rail Loop East.
These works will cause delays on key roads and surrounding areas. Be sure to plan ahead, allow extra time or take an alternative route if possible.
