Pedestrian community resources
Recent research into crashes involving pedestrians crossing roads, concluded that failure by pedestrians and drivers or riders to observe rules and responsibilities may be a significant factor in these crashes.
Surveys with pedestrians and drivers also revealed some misunderstanding of the rules related to who has to give way when pedestrians are crossing.
Video and print resources
VicRoads has developed a set of engaging video and print resources to inform the community about pedestrian safety when crossing roads.
These include animations that can be viewed on the VicRoads YouTube channel.
