Drink and drug-driving information for employers

Educate employees and reduce risks posed by alcohol and or drugs in the workplace, including on the road.

As an employers, you have a duty of care towards employees and others in the workplace.

You are responsible for:

making sure employees and others on the road are not exposed to unnecessary risks
providing safety information, instruction, training and supervision to employees
consulting with employees to reduce alcohol and drug related harm
consistently and fairly applying policies.

The blood-alcohol limit is zero for drivers of heavy vehicles greater than 4.5 tonnes. Drivers face harsh penalties if they are caught drink-driving.
