Class 1 heavy vehicle maps

The Class 1 section of the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) maps show roads suitable for:

• special purpose vehicles, such as mobile cranes and concrete pump trucks
• oversize overmass (OSOM) load carrying combinations, including low loader and platform trailer combinations
• heavy tow trucks
• over dimensional routes preferred for heavy combinations exceeding the mass and/or dimensions allowed for OSOM combinations.

How to use the maps

Road colour definitions:

• Green roads are available to approved vehicles.
• Yellow roads have conditions you must meet. Click the road to view the conditions.
• Red roads are restricted. Click the road to view why they are restricted.

You must get a permit from the road manager to use ‘red’ roads, except where signed detours are in place.

Use map layers to view:

• road closures
• traffic alerts
• roadworks
• detours or events
• height limits (read more about height clearance on roads).

Check your route for disruptions before travelling.

Detours aren’t always shown

Detours are only added if:

• the road is not already mapped as approved or conditionally approved
• the detour is required for 12 weeks or more.
