Ordering compliance plates
AFSACS providers can order compliance plates through VicRoad's online shop.
Plate prices
Plate type: liquified petroleum cas (LPG) compliance plate.
Cost: $57.05.
Plate type: compressed natural gas (CNG)/liquefied natural gas (LNG) compliance plate.
Cost: $57.05.
Costs displayed include GST.

Vehicle standards for gas conversions
It's a requirement of Regulation 293 of the Road Safety (Vehicles) Regulations 2021 that all modifications to a vehicle must have specific approval from DTP or be carried out in accordance with guidelines published by us.
Conversion of an existing motor vehicle to operate on LPG, LNG or CNG is a modification.
Guidelines for gas conversions
Any LPG, LNG or CNG conversion carried out in accordance with vehicle standards information (VSI) 27 - LPG, LNG or CNG conversion and repairs is an approved modification.
VSI 27 also includes the conversion report that vehicle owners must present to DTP to notify them of a change in fuel type.
