New SmartBus Route 903

The new SmartBus Route 903 started service on Monday April 20 and passengers enjoyed free travel for the first two weeks of operation.
It's the first full 'orbital' bus route around Melbourne. It runs between Mordialloc and Altona and provides connections to train stations, major shopping centres and community facilities.
This service replaced SmartBus Route 700 (Mordialloc to Box Hill via Warrigal Road) and the Route 291 bus (Heidelberg to Box Hill).
Why is it Smarter?
SmartBus Route 903 is a high frequency service running seven days a week. A bus will arrive around every 15 minutes between 6.30am and 9pm on weekdays and every 30 minutes at other times.
SmartBus has an advantage over other bus services, due to dedicated bus lanes, priority at traffic signal intersections and better bus stops that provide easy access in and out of traffic.
The service also provides 'real-time' information at selected bus stops, along with high-visibility signage, stop-specific timetable information and a map of the local area.

The new Route 903 SmartBus service, running from Mordialloc to Altona, provides connections to:
